Do it right the first time, save legal costs

"The biggest problem for this glazing subcontractor is the installation does not comply with the installation instructions from the glass fabricator or manufacturer, or referenced industry standards; therefore the 10-year warranty on the insulating glass is null and void."

Tips on Designing and Measuring Frameless Shower Doors
By Danny Donahue

Martha Stewart's Exploding Tables
While Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia's new co-CEOs seek to reassure a pessimistic Wall Street that has driven its share price down to $8 from a high of $18 earlier this year, the company's lawyers are in court trying to negotiate the settlement of a 3-year-old lawsuit that, if things go badly, could cost Martha Stewart and Sears $150 million.

Broken Dreams
Improperly Installed Mirrors Can Shatter Lives
By Les Shaver

Juanita Delaroca used to get a lot of modeling work and having flawless hands didn’t hurt her cause. But modeling wasn’t her only career. She also worked as a bartender at night for extra income cash. That’s what she was doing on January 1, 2001. As New Year’s revelers were partying around Boston, Delaroca was serving two customers at Pravda, the bar where she worked. That’s when everything came crashing down.

To Bevel or Not To Bevel?
If you’re wondering how your mirror prices match up to the competition, USGlass has answers. This month we randomly called shops in Grand Rapids, Mich., Jacksonville, Fla., and Sacramento, Calif., to find out how much it would cost to replace a 42- by 32-inch bathroom mirror. When they asked whether we preferred polished or beveled edges, we asked for both, to find what type of price difference lies between these two options.
